About Us
Introducing Jason Medd

Swimming is in the Genes!
I am from a competitive swimming family and started my teaching career at the age of 15 with Fleetwood swimming club, gaining experience as a teacher and a coach.
After teaching and coaching larger groups of swimmers for over a decade at municipal pools and coaching at the local swimming club. I decided to start my own swimming business in 1993, so I could reduce group sizes therefore increasing quality and individual tuition in order to nurture a lifelong love of water.
After about 6 years of hiring different local pools, we found our present pool and fell in love with it. We liked it that much we bought it in 2003 (after 4 and a half years of hiring it).
Meet Your Swimming Instructor
As well as Jason offering swimming lessons, experienced swimming teacher Shelly is also a member of the Jason Medd Swim School Team.
My name is Shelly and I’ve been a swimming teacher for over 6 years, specialising in parent & baby and pre school ages. I have absolutely loved my job since day 1 and I am excited to be a part of every child’s progression. I encourage a fun and safe environment for both baby and parent.
I am also a mother of two and swam with both my children as babies. The bonding time I had during those 30 minute classes were unforgettable.

Pool Improvements
Over the last two decades, we have gradually improved the pool beyond recognition. Changing all the plant machinery to high quality commercial units, from an environmental Heat Star unit to control the air quality, temperature and humidity, commercial filter, Installation of an advanced Quantum UV Photo-catalytic Oxidising unit which neutralises bacteria, viruses, algae and fungi that traditional chemicals cannot, keeping your family safer.

High Quality, Small Group Teaching
Improvements we have made include:
-
- increased the number of changing rooms from two to four.
- Upgraded poolside and changing room seating
- Recently installed a new ceiling and heating system.
- Inbetween lockdowns we reduced class sizes which promoted a change & a commitment to teaching in very small groups of 4 in order to achieve high quality/individual tuition.
Never be average
never accept just adequate
If you are content with an average/adequate swimming lesson then our swim school is not for you.
Your child is a special, unique individual and we will support and encourage each child to bring out the best in them.
From my coaching background I have always believed in the importance of technique, in order to swim proficiently, afterwards comes the endurance and speed.
I live, breath and even dream swimming! It has been a huge part of my life and I still get the same heart warming feeling when a beginner starts to swim independently as I did when I was 15.
It is such a great honour and a privilege to help people achieve such an important life skill, which they will enjoy & take great pleasure participating in throughout their lives & then hopefully passing on to the next generation.
